“The SPIEF Sports Games programme brings together events aimed at developing international cooperation, introducing new competition formats for leading athletes, and promoting amateur sport and a healthy lifestyle. Ladoga Gold encompasses all of these areas. At the same time, the race has become a good example of how exciting sporting competition helps increase the tourist appeal of regions and showcase the beauty of our country,” said Anton Kobyakov, Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee and Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.
The organizers of Ladoga Gold are the Russian Cycling Federation and the Roscongress Foundation, with the support of the Ministry of Sport of Russia. It is one of the country’s flagship multi-day cycling races included in the Unified Calendar Plan of the Ministry of Sport. The leader jerseys for the race will once again be produced by VTR.
Participants in the professional classification will start on 25 May in the city of Olonets and will complete seven stages with a total distance of 800 km. Amateur riders will start on 27 May in the settlement of Michurinskoye in the Leningrad Region, with a route of five stages totalling 311 km. Corporate teams will begin the race on 27 May at the Igora Drive circuit, where they will complete three stages and 123 km. Participants in all categories will ride through Vyborg and finish on 31 May on the banks of the St. Petersburg Rowing Canal.
In different years, the race has featured athletes from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the UAE, Vietnam, Syria, and other countries.
In 2025, the overall victory in Gold of Ladoga was claimed by Artemiy Khomyakov of the Mangazeya – Moscow Sport Team. He finished just four seconds ahead of Sergey Shevchenko of Team Minsk, who had led after 4 stages. The title of Best Young Rider was won by Almir Valiev of Team Astana. The winners of the amateur teams and corporate cycling clubs classification were Zubov Team.
