The total prize fund of the 4th International multi-stage cycling race Ladoga Gold, which will open the programme of the Sports Games of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, will amount to 3 million roubles. It will be distributed among the best performers in classifications for professionals from different countries, amateur cycling clubs and corporate teams.
“For us it is important that both professionals and everyone for whom cycling has become a part of life can take part in top-level races in terms of competition and organization. I invite everyone to test themselves in Ladoga Gold, which we are developing as one of the flagship multi-stage races in our country. We thank the Ministry of Sport of Russia and the Roscongress Foundation for their support and systematic participation in the development of the project,” said President of the Russian Cycling Federation Yury Kucheryavy.
The winner of the general classification of Ladoga Gold among professionals will receive 300,000 roubles. Prize money is set aside for victories in both team and individual amateur classifications. One of the innovations will be a prize fund for the best promotion of the cycling race among amateur and corporate teams.
“The Ladoga Gold cycling race creates a vivid picture of three regions of Russia at once, demonstrating how sport and tourism can organically complement one another. This year we will apply the experience of media leagues to cycling, so that every participant of Ladoga Gold becomes a co-author of a great story about cycling and the beauty of our country,” said Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev.
The road race will take place from 25 to 31 May along the roads of Leningrad Region, the Republic of Karelia and St. Petersburg. The cycling race is organized by the Russian Cycling Federation and the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation. Vehicles for escort and technical assistance to riders will be provided by AvtoVAZ. All participants in the amateur classification will be insured by SberStrakhovanie. Leader jerseys for the race will once again be prepared by VTR.
