The BRICS+ Fashion Summit business program features more than 200 speakers from all over the world. They are fashion industry professionals who set the trends for its development in their relevant regions. We asked some of them to size up the Summit’s impact on BRICS+ emerging markets, to talk about fashion development trends in their countries and the contribution made by the textile and garment industry to their national economies.
During the first BRICS+ Fashion Summit, we had insightful and inspiring discussions about inclusive fashion. At the upcoming summit, I expect in-depth speculation on sustainable practices and their integration into inclusive fashion. I would love to discuss issues such as the impact of technology on fashion accessibility and how we could use digital platforms to learn about alternative perspectives. By sharing knowledge and best practices across the BRICS+ countries, we can pave the way towards a more inclusive and sustainable future for fashion.
The fashion industry needs collaboration between global leaders and emerging economies. The rich cultural heritage and creativity of these regions could promote design innovation and sustainable development. By cultivating partnerships, we can build a more balanced global fashion landscape also catering for the emerging economies’ economic needs. This collaboration could lead to mutually rewarding growth and more equitable distribution of resources and opportunities. The fashion industry as a whole is moving towards globalization, with big companies expanding their presence. At the same time, there is growing recognition of local brands that appeal to consumers on a personal level. These brands often tell a personal story and use sustainable practices, attracting more responsible customers. The future might capitalize on a hybrid model with global brands learning from local designers while preserving their international presence.
