With Uzbekistan&#8217;s accession, the bank&#8217;s membership has grown to ten countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 5, 2026, Uzbekistan deposited its instrument of accession in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement on the New Development Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NDB President Dilma Rousseff warmly congratulated Uzbekistan on its membership:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#171;The New Development Bank cordially welcomes Uzbekistan to the growing family of NDB member countries. Uzbekistan is demonstrating truly outstanding economic results. The country brings to the bank a vibrant and dynamic economy, underpinned by a firm commitment to sustainable development and international cooperation&#187;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Rousseff emphasized that the bank intends to support Uzbekistan&#8217;s sustainable development agenda, including projects in such areas as clean energy, water resource management, and transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NDB was established by the BRICS countries to mobilize resources for infrastructure projects and sustainable development in developing nations.
