PhosAgro confidently maintains its leadership in supplying mineral fertilizers to BRICS countries. Last year, the company\u2019s exports to these nations reached 4 million tonnes, this accounting for nearly half its total overseas shipments (8.6 million tonnes). PhosAgro\u2019s share in the BRICS total phosphorus fertilizer imports rose to 21% in the past year, up from 19% in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brazil remains PhosAgro\u2019s largest export market. Last year, the company supplied a record 2.3 million tonnes of fertilizers to Brazil, and, in the first half of this year alone, it delivered approximately 800,000 tonnes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is important that PhosAgro fertilizers have unique environmental characteristics: unlike the products of some foreign manufacturers, they do not contain concentrations of cadmium that are hazardous to human health and the soil,\u201d noted Mikhail Sterkin, PhosAgro\u2019s Deputy CEO for Sales and Marketing, during the BRICS Business Council meeting in Rio de Janeiro in July 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India is PhosAgro\u2019s second-largest BRICS export market. Over the past three years, the company\u2019s shipments to India have tripled, reaching 1.3 million tonnes. The upward trend continues: in just the first four months of 2025, nearly 1 million tonnes of fertilizer were shipped to Indian partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The African market is a key pillar of the PhosAgro international strategy. In 2024, the company supplied 740,000 tonnes of products to African countries, a 30% increase over the previous year. Particular attention is paid to the South African market, where over 400,000 tonnes were sold last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PhosAgro\u2019s engagement with BRICS countries goes beyond product supplies. One of the company\u2019s flagship humanitarian and educational projects is the international educational platform ProAgro Lectorium. Launched in 2023, it has been recognized as the official educational platform of the BRICS Business Council\u2019s Agribusiness Working Group and won the BRICS Solutions Awards 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In collaboration with UNESCO and IUPAC, PhosAgro is implementing the Green Chemistry for Life programme, which provides grants to young scientists worldwide for environmental protection, sustainable natural resource management and waste recycling projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company also supports the development of the LATSOLAN soil laboratory network, which operates under the auspices of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) monitoring soil health. Additionally, PhosAgro backs initiatives by partners in Brazil and India to establish two Centres of Excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
