“There is no surprise that the Bolshaya Khimiya Forum is held in Ufa, the centre of oil-extracting and oil-refining industry of Russia”, told Dmitry Sharonov, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee on arrangements for the Fifth International Forum Bolshaya Khimiya, Deputy Prime Minister of the government of the Republic of Bashkortostan. “The challenge of Russia today requires necessity to establish integrated oil-refining enterprises in regions to speed up the transition from crude oil export to production and sale of high quality products. It is common knowledge that the manufactured products range does not meet demands of the market. We have to buy final products abroad losing profits and putting breaks on internal oil-refinery industry. The Forum will give start to discussions about trans-regional cooperation, joint development of high technologies and attraction of foreign long-term investments into Russian petrochemical industry. So the importance of cooperation between Russia and SCO and BRICS countries can hardly be overestimated. We also plan to present the latest achievements of Russian enterprises in the sphere of oil refinery and chemical production to our foreign partners in order to form joint enterprises and increase competitiveness of Russian oil service on foreign markets”.
The organizing committee has already received confirmation of attendance from the representatives of top Russian petrochemical corporations (LUKOIL, Rosneft, Gasprom-neft, ROSNANO, etc), the Heads of regions (the Republic of Tatarstan, the Samara region, the Tyumen region, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District and other regions), official delegations and companies from neighbor and distant foreign countries (the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Armenia, Germany, Switzerland, China), the representatives of Scientific Associations (National Agrochemical Association, Institute of Catalysis named after G.Boreskov SB RAS, Research and Development Engineering Centre Sintez, Russian Plastic Recycling Corporation, National Research Centre ‘Kurchatov Institute’, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas) and other participants.
