The Triple Helix Conference takes place in Tomsk in September
The International conference “The Triple Helix and innovation-based economic growth: new frontiers and solutions” will be held on September 11-13, 2014 in Tomsk, Russia. This is the 12th conference in the sequence of Triple Helix Conferences that are held annually in the major cities around the world. It is the first time the event takes place in Russia.
Besides International Triple Helix Association the conference organizers are Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radio Electronics, National Research Tomsk State University and Association of Entrepreneurial Universities of Russia.
The main issue of Triple Helix is to discuss an effective cooperation between universities, business and government under conditions of economic growth slowdown. Participants of the Conference are professors and researchers from 56 universities, representatives of state and regional authorities, medium-sized and large business. In total more than 200 participants from 30 countries are taking part in the event. Among them are Deputy Director of Open Innovations Center of University of California, Berkeley Solomon Darwin, President of the Triple Helix Association and lead researcher of H-STAR Institute Henry Etzkowitz, founder and president of Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology Edward Crowley, professor of Tallinn University of Technology Wolfgang Drechsler, CEO of Economic Growth of Barcelona City Council Josep Pique, Economic consultant for Detroit Future City Kyle Polk and others.
